Tree and Shrub Fertilization
Why Fertilize Trees and Shrubs?
Fertilization helps your landscape achieve its full potential for beauty and health.
Here are some basic objectives:
- Promote or maintain growth
- Correct nutrient deficiencies
- Reduce the impact of insects and diseases
- Increase root growth
It’s important to know that trees with sufficient nutritional levels will look better and live longer.
When to Fertilize
We recommended fertilization before signs of nutrient deficiency are visible and plant hardiness has been negatively affected. Professional fertilization can be applied any time of the year as long as the ground is not frozen or impenetrable due to drought conditions.
Easy, Economical Application
Specially formulated fertilizer is injected into the soil easily, under pressure. This environmentally friendly fertilizer is distributed into the ‘root zone’ of your valuable plants.
Nutrient Deficiency
Special treatments are necessary to correct nutrient deficiency. ‘Iron Chlorosis’ (pictured above) commonly effects Oaks and Maples causing leaves to turn yellow then brown. If left unchecked this condition may spread to branches eventually resulting in the death of the tree. Hollies, Azaleas and other broadleaf evergreens require a more acidic soil to thrive and may require other treatments.
