Elm Preservation
- Currently over 65 stately elms under our care have survived the devastating effects of Dutch Elm Disease
- Prevention of Dutch Elm Disease begins with pruning. Elms should be pruned during the dormant season to eliminate dead or diseased wood. Deep-root fertilization will enhance the health of Elms
Dutch Elm Disease (DED)
- DED is a lethal tree disease caused by an aggressive fungus
- The disease is primarily transmitted by a beetle that feeds on the branches
Tree Injection
- To protect a tree from infection, a fungicide must be evenly and completely distributed throughout the tree
- The best way to get such distribution is by macro-injection into the root flares of the tree
- Injections should be performed every 3 years minimum
